Today, Superior Boiler Works & Welding Ltd. has grown into one of our area's largest General Mechanical, Electrical Contractors and Boiler Pressure Vessel Manufacturers.  With over 140 employees and growing, we design, fabricate and install for a wide variety of applications.

Over the years Superior has taken on complex projects and delivered on-time and on-budget solutions.  We have become a “one stop shop”.

Valerio DeFaveri

Co-Founder of Superior Boiler Works & Welding. Valerio DeFaveri has provided his efforts, knowledge and expertise to build our company today.  Today, Valerio brings to the company over four decades of manufacturing and construction experience in the mechanical industry.  Since 1962, Valerio has dedicated his efforts to developing our business.

Gianni Gazzola
Vice President

Co-Founder of Superior Boiler Works & Welding. Together with Valerio DeFaveri, Gianni Gazzola provided his efforts, knowledge and expertise to build our company today.  With several mechanical licenses and designations, Gianni actively supports the efforts of the field service division.  His expertise and mechanical background brings to our jobs and projects quality and excellence.  Gianni has collaborated during the last 40 years in developing and training our supervisory staff.  Gianni has obtained his Steam fitter Tradesman, welder and gas fitter licenses.

David DeFaveri
VP Field Services / VP Business Development

As one of the owners, David is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, compensation, and distribution and channel strategy.  In his role of VP Field Services, David leads the Operations and Planning of the division.  David is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, holds valid C of Q’s for Steam Fitter Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Hoisting Engineer, Gas Fitter, and holds the Master’s and Contractor's Licenses for our business.

Loris Gazzola
VP Manufacturing

Loris initiated his career at Superior Boiler Works in 1992.  Similar to David DeFaveri, Loris had the opportunity to learn and understand all operations and challenges of the company from the bottom up.  Loris acquired hands-on experience in pipe fitting, welding, heat exchanger construction and repair, vessel repairs and fabrication.  He moved into a quality control position where he implemented the rules stated in the ASME code, then began both estimating and designing a vast amount of products complimenting the fabrication department.  Loris is a Mechanical Engineering Technologist and has also obtained licenses as a Steam fitter Tradesman, Mobile 2 crane operator, welder and gas fitter.  Loris is responsible for planning and directing the operations of the manufacturing division, as well as managing sales and business development, including revenue and sales growth, expense, cost and margin control within the division.

Paul Kandola
General Manager Manufacturing

Paul joined our executive team as the General Manager for the Manufacturing division in July, 2008. Paul is responsible for developing, managing and implementing major projects for our manufacturing division.  Paul has over 30 years of experience in Manufacturing and Construction Management. He has experience working on projects in Canada, USA, Europe and Asia. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science, First Class Honors from the University of Aston and a Master in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University.  Paul is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec.

Domenic Settimi
Controller/Finance Manager

Domenic has been a member of the executive team since 2003. Domenic is responsible for directing and managing the company’s financial operations, including the IT department and administrative functions.  In addition, Domenic actively supports the executive team and participates in analyzing current and future business operations and plans, to determine financial effectiveness.  Domenic holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and specialized in Finance and Accounting.

Nerio Barichello
Field Services Manager

Nerio started as a labourer with the Company in October, 1980.  He received five promotions until assuming his current position as Field Services Manager in 2010.   He manages 35 employees and his main duties include scheduling projects, estimating, ordering material and co-ordinating staff to complete contracts on time.   Throughout his years of employment with Superior, he obtained (and maintains) the following licenses and qualifications:  gas fitter I, steam fitter, welder, hoisting engineer: mobile crane operator (level 2), and gastite installer.
